Located between the western edge of the Parco Ravizza and the new structures of the Campus Bocconi, the “container” volume of the new VAI centre limits its impact with a total mimesis through the multiplied reflection of the green metropolitan front.
The project area is part of a larger plan for the recovery of small municipal green areas with little use or degradation, included in a program of agreements between the municipal administration and private entities for the redevelopment of sites through the creation of facilities for sports and leisure. Among these areas, the one in Via Ferdinando Bocconi is undoubtedly the one for which the attention to landscape insertion is a delicate issue, both for the presence of the historic Parco Ravizza, and for the new and important project of the Campus for Bocconi University designed by the Japanese studio company SANAA.
The project proposes a building that, following the route of the PGT for the boundary of the park, creates new paths and stops in the green “reflected” by the coating of vertical panels in polished steel mirror, drawn on a broken line that also camouflages the entrances in the center. With a mixed structure in prefabricated and arranged on two floors outside the ground, for a total of more than 5000 square meters for fitness and wellness areas, the center is also equipped with two underground floors for 250 parking spaces for exclusive use as well as related areas for special facilities of indoor pools.
Interposto tra il margine ovest del parco Ravizza e la nuove strutture del Campus Bocconi, il volume “contenitore” del nuovo nuovo centro VAI, limita il suo impatto con una totale mimesi attraverso il riflesso moltiplicato del fronte verde metropolitano.
L’area di progetto fa parte di un più ampio piano di recupero di aree verdi comunali di modesta dimensione e con scarso utilizzo o stato di degrado, inserite in un programma di convenzionamento tra amministrazione comunale e soggetti privati per la rivalorizzazione dei siti attraverso la creazione di impianti per lo sport e il tempo libero. Tra queste aree quella di via Ferdinando Bocconi è senza dubbio quella per cui l’attenzione all’inserimento paesisitico è tema delicato, sia per la presenza dello storico Parco Ravizza, quanto per il nuovo e importante progetto del campus Università Bocconi a firma dello studio giapponese SANAA.
Il progetto propone un edificio che, seguendo il tracciato del PGT per il confine del parco, crea nuovi percorsi e soste nel verde “riflesso” dal rivestimento in panneli verticali in acciaio lucido a specchio, disegnati su una linea spezzata che mimetizza anche gli ingressi al centro. Con struttura mista in prefabbricato e disposto su due piani fuoriterra, per un totale di più di 5000 metri quadri per gli spazi area fitness e wellness, il centro è dotato anche di due piani interrati per i 250 posti auto di uso esclusivo oltre ad relative aree per gli impianti speciali delle piscine coperte.
