The project, at the edge of the Naviglio Grande and in a variant of the two previous authorisations, considerably reduces the volumetric and environmental impact by proposing a semi-hypogean solution that is strongly mimicked by the green nature of the site.

The new Club VAI is part of an urban reality with a consolidated fabric, but in the phase of redefinition and urban recovery. It has been designed on the areas licensed by the Municipality of Milan for the construction of a sports centre for fitness and wellness use on the area in which it has the right to use, with annexed services, facilities for an outdoor swimming pool and multifunctional sports fields for public use on the area in which it has the right to use the surface.

The obligations of the Agreement also provided for the greening of the external areas to be paid by the concessionaire in accordance with the agreements with the Urban and Green Furnishing Technical Sector. The intention of the Convention was therefore to seek in this context a relationship of continuity on an urban scale with the city and the district, to redefine and organize an organic environmental system consisting of sports areas connected to each other, and with new green and continuous elements, an urban green more usable and permeable.
The roofs of the centre and of the multi-functional field, covered on top with ground and grass, with a curved section and structure in laminated wood beams, slope towards the new public park and form a green continuum. The building of the fitness center is spread over two floors partly inland for about 4000 square meters and d is served by a basement of 180 parking spaces for exclusive use. The project is completed by an outdoor area with swimming pool, solarium and beach volleyball court with changing rooms and services for the use of all VAI members in Milan, as well as a municipal management structure for various activities (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. . ).
